Imagine a band of mid 4th century heretical Christian extremists, traveling through North Africa, and beating to death fellow travelers with really big sticks. These were The circumcellions or as they preferred to call themselves, "agonistici the fighters for Christ". They hated slavery. They hated debt. And, they hated property. But they loved to Kill a man to be closer to Jesus. And because Jesus told Peter to put down his sword in the Garden of Gethsemane (John 18:11), the Circumcellions PIOUSLY avoided bladed weapons and chose to kill folk with blunt clubs, which they called "Israelites."
